5 Ingredient BBQ Chickpea Pizza Recipe

Hey guys!! Long time no post. I really got out of the swing of things so for my first post in over 7 months I thought I would go with something super simple and fun to make.

These BBQ Chickpea Pizzas are seriously yummy, easy to make, and best of all quick! You can have dinner on the table in 15 minutes with these. They are vegetarian but very easily made vegan with a couple of swaps. The secret to these being ready so quickly is using a pre-made crust. For mine I used mini naan bread. But pita bread would also work great, just cut the cooking time down by a few minutes. And without further ado…

5 Ingredient BBQ Chickpea Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

  • Mini Naan Bread (or pita Bread)
  • Shredded cheese
  • Pizza sauce
  • Bbq sauce
  • 1 can of chickpeas drained and rinsed

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. Mix drained chickpeas with bbq sauce in a bowl and set aside
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place your naan bread or pita bread on the sheet.
  4. Top bread with half pizza sauce and half bbq sauce and swirl together
  5. Top sauce with cheese, then top with your bbq chickpeas. Then sprinkle a bit more cheese on top of chickpeas. (I also seasoned each with a bit of salt and pepper at this point but that is optional)
  6. Bake in the 400 degree oven for 8-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
  7. The final step I do to make the bread extra crunchy in put the pizzas under the broiler just for a minute or two. This is optional but it gives the bread a really good crunch. If you do this just be sure to keep an eye on your pizzas because the broiler could burn them very quickly.

And thats it! So easy and so yummy. I love this recipe because it is so easy to modify and add onto. Red onions and ranch dressing would both be great additions to this pizza. Enjoy!
